Areas of Expertise
Our desire is to see each person we serve become their very best self, and live a life full of vitality. Optimal health is not complicated in itself, but it can be exceedingly challenging to implement on your own, particularly when battling chronic disease or while juggling a very demanding life. We seek to understand your story, this is why our history visit is longer than most practices. We then really dig into your concerns so we can identify the root cause of your concerns. Our goal is to then empower you through education and welcome you into a community of like-minded individuals for support and accountability.
As a family nurse practitioner, Dr. Layne offers primary care to the entire family, from birth through end of life. Her training spans conventional medicine, functional medicine, botanical medicine, and mind/body therapies, including yoga and mindfulness.
It’s said that through the practice of yoga, we merge all the layers of our self—the physical, the emotional, the mental, and the spiritual.
Dr. Layne's approach to chronic health conditions is with a Functional Medicine mindset, which she has offered her clients for more than a decade. She evaluates life habits and how these impact overall health, integrating a plethora of healing modalities into treatment plans. Dr. Layne values the importance of creating a balanced life, maintaining healthy embodiment, prioritizing mindfulness, healthy connections, obtaining frequent opportunities for grounding, practicing daily gratitude, and investing in self-study.
It was important to her to understand the heart of her client and to empower them through education, encouragement, and support. For these efforts, Dr. Layne has been recognized and received multiple professional awards, including an Indiana Nurse of the Year award for advancing the nursing profession. She has received professional awards for advocating for patients and has served in many leadership positions with an earnest desire to improve outcomes and maintain health freedoms. Dr. Lane is a professor at the University of Maryland, teaching within the Integrative Health and Wellness graduate program, and also a professor in the Family Nurse Practitioner graduate program at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Dr. Layne seeks to build trusting relationships with her clients, investing time with them in each consult to understand their priorities, challenges, goals, and even their vulnerabilities. This time allows her to create a very individualized wellness plan or a functional medicine treatment plan as appropriate. Members are offered exclusive access to resources for supporting their wellness throughout the entire year.
